Paid Sits
Some hosts offer payment for pet sitting on top of free accommodation.

Free Exchange Sits
Most sits are free exchanges - you get free accommodation in exchange for pet care.
- No payment changes hands between host and sitter
- You pay a small booking fee when confirmed
- Great way to travel and build reviews
- Most common type of sit on SitterRight
Payment Breakdown
Here's how payment works for a paid sit with a $100/day rate:
For a 7-day sit at $100/day, you would receive $630 (after the 10% fee).
Setting Up Payouts
To receive payments for paid sits, you need to connect a payout account. We use Stripe for secure, fast payments.
Go to Payout Settings
Navigate to Settings → Payout Settings from your dashboard.
Connect with Stripe
Click 'Connect with Stripe' to set up your payout account. Stripe is our secure payment partner.
Verify Your Identity
Complete Stripe's identity verification. This is required by law for receiving payments.
Add Bank Details
Enter your bank account or debit card details where you'd like to receive payouts.
Confirmation
Once approved, you'll see a green 'Connected' status and you're ready to receive payments.

Here's what happens after you complete a paid sit:

Stripe transfers funds to your bank (2-5 business days)

Note: Total time from sit completion to funds in your account is typically 3-7 business days.

When do I get paid for a paid sit?
Payments are released after the sit ends. The host's payment is held securely during the sit and released to you once you've completed your responsibilities.
What is the service fee?
SitterRight takes a 10% service fee from paid sits. So if the host pays $100/day, you receive $90/day. This fee helps us maintain the platform and provide support.
Can I see my earnings history?
Yes! Go to Settings → Payout Settings to view your complete earnings history, including pending and completed payouts.
What if a payment fails?
If a payout fails (usually due to incorrect bank details), you'll be notified and can update your payout information. The payment will be retried automatically.
Do I need to pay taxes on my earnings?
Yes, you're responsible for reporting your earnings and paying applicable taxes. SitterRight may provide tax documents if required by your jurisdiction.
What currencies are supported?
Payouts are made in your local currency. Stripe handles currency conversion automatically if the host paid in a different currency.
