SitterRight introduces hosts and sitters to each other. We are not a party to the arrangement they agree between themselves. To use the platform you need to be 18, give accurate information, keep your account secure, and follow the community rules. The full terms below are what actually govern your use — this summary does not replace them.
1Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using SitterRight's website, mobile applications, or services (collectively, the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Platform.
2Description of Service
SitterRight provides an online platform that connects pet owners ("Hosts") with pet sitters ("Sitters"). We facilitate introductions and transactions but are not a party to any agreement between Hosts and Sitters.
3Eligibility
To use SitterRight, you must:
4Account Registration
You must create an account to use most features of the Platform. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
Device Security: For your protection, we track trusted devices. You will receive an email notification when your account is accessed from a new device.
5User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Provide false or misleading information
- Use the Platform for any illegal purpose
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users
- Circumvent our fee structure or payment system
- Scrape or collect user data without permission
- Post spam, advertisements, or promotional content
- Interfere with the proper functioning of the Platform
6Sitter Verification
Sitters may complete Verified Basics (identity, email, and phone verification) and may add VerifyPlus, a background check. Background checks are processed by our trusted partner, Certn, and include criminal record searches and identity verification. Only the pass or fail result is shown to other members, never the report itself, and results are valid for 2 years. Individual listings may require VerifyPlus before a sitter can apply.
While we take reasonable steps to verify Sitters, we do not guarantee the accuracy of any information provided by users. Hosts are encouraged to conduct their own due diligence before engaging a Sitter.
7Sits & Payments
Important:
All sits and payments must be made through the Platform. Off-platform transactions are prohibited and void any protections offered by SitterRight. Service fees are non-refundable except as specified in our Cancellation Policy.
8Cancellation Policy
We understand plans can change. Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair to both parties while ensuring accountability. For standard cancellations, the cancelling party forfeits their booking fee and the non-cancelling party receives a refund of their booking fee. Timing determines which cancellation process is available and whether account restrictions apply.
Request-Based Cancellations
Some cancellations require a request instead of immediate self-cancellation. During that request window, the other party has 48 hours to respond or find an alternative arrangement. You can withdraw your cancellation request during this period.

Sitter Cancellation Account Action
Sitter-initiated cancellations can result in temporary restrictions based on timing: 14 days for standard cancellations, 21 days for 7-13 days before start, and 30 days for less than 7 days before start. Repeat cancellations can increase the restriction or lead to permanent removal from the marketplace.
Booking Credits and Support
When a sitter cancels, SitterRight may add booking credits to the host's account to help with rebooking. Forfeited fees are recorded on the booking and may be used to fund platform support, rebooking assistance, and policy enforcement.
Emergency Cancellations
We understand emergencies happen. If you need to cancel due to:
- Death in immediate family
- Serious illness or hospitalization
- Natural disaster affecting travel
- Government travel restrictions
Contact support with documentation for review. If approved, both parties are refunded and cancellation penalties are waived.

10Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SITTERRIGHT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES.
11Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SitterRight, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from your use of the Platform or violation of these Terms.
12Intellectual Property
Platform Materials
Except for User Content, the Platform and its text, graphics, logos, designs, software, and other materials are owned by SitterRight or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from those materials without our prior written consent, except as permitted by law.
Your Content and License
You retain any ownership rights you have in content that you submit, post, upload, or otherwise make available for other members or the public to view through the Platform, including profile information, listings, photos, and reviews ("User Content").
By making User Content available through the Platform, you grant SitterRight a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable license to host, store, use, reproduce, edit, modify, adapt, translate, publish, distribute, perform, and display that User Content, in whole or in part, on the Platform and through other websites, applications, and channels owned, operated, or used by SitterRight. This license allows us to operate, secure, moderate, improve, and publicize the Platform, including making technical changes such as resizing or reformatting content for different devices.
The license above continues even if you remove the User Content, close your account, or stop using the Platform. Private messages are not User Content under that license. You grant us a separate, limited, non-exclusive license to process, store, transmit, display to the intended recipients, secure, and moderate private messages only as needed to provide the messaging service, comply with law, or enforce these Terms. We do not use private messages for advertising.
You represent and warrant that you own your User Content or have all rights and permissions needed to make it available and grant this license, and that your User Content does not violate another person's intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or other rights.
13Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
14Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. You may delete your account at any time through your account settings.
Account Deletion Process
When you request account deletion, there is a 30-day grace period during which you can cancel the request. After 30 days, your account and personal data will be permanently deleted. You can cancel the deletion at any time during this period from your account settings.
15Modifications
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on the Platform or by email. Your continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
16Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in Delaware.
